Finger - Depp Lied

One of the biggest Johnny Depp lies was that Amber Heard cut his finger tip off. There were several problems with this lie.

THE TELEPHONE

The telephone was central to the finger tip incident because when Amber Heard was asked how she thought Depp cut his finger she said it was probably when he was smashing the phone on the wall although she wasn't sure.

In the UK Johnny Depp confirmed that there was a telephone on the wall. Depp said when questioned by Sacha Wass, “I remember ripping the phone off the wall”.

Depp then gets to the US for his trial against Amber and denies there was ever a wall mounted telephone. 

THE AUDIO

There are several audio recordings which back up the fact that Depp cut his own finger. In one recording Depp is heard saying, “I’m talking about Australia. The day that I chopped my finger off”.

In their last telephone conversation there is audio which Depp records Amber without her knowledge. There is reference to him cutting his own finger again.

Depp: It doesn’t matter. Fair fight my a*s. 

Amber: Exactly! Because you’re bigger and you’re stronger. And so when I say that I thought you could kill me, that doesn’t mean you counter with, YOU ALSO LOST YOUR OWN FINGER! I am not trying to attack you here. I’m just trying to point out why I said call 911. BECAUSE YOU HAD YOUR HANDS ON ME, AFTER YOU THREW A PHONE AT MY FACE! And it’s gotten crazy in the past, and I truly thought, “I need to stop this madness before I get hurt.”

TEXTS

Depp sends several texts referring to cutting his own finger.

In the first text (presumably when he still high and bleeding) Depp writes to Dr Kipper saying, “I cut the top of my middle finger off.. What should I do!?? Except, of course, go to hosptial..”

In one text to Dr Kipper Depp writes. “I have chopped off my left middle finger as a reminder that I should never cut my finger off again!!”

In another text to Nurse Erin Depp writes, “Ol’ Kipper… This is the second time that he’s held off giving me Meds by blackmailing me into seeing him… The first time I had just chopped my finger off.”

Depp sends another text to his sister Debrowski saying, “fucked up my finger pretty nasty” without any reference to Amber Heard having done it.

THE INCIDENT

Amber Heard has always maintained that she did not know for sure how Depp injured his finger but guessed it was while he was smashing the phone. She had arrived in Australia after a long flight. She was exhausted and wanted a quiet night while Depp wanted to take MDMA. He had not slept for days and had been taking drugs and alcohol. 

In his testimony Depp claimed he was sitting at the bar with his hand resting on the marble surface palm down. He said Amber threw a bottle which somehow took the underside of his finger tip off. 

Dr Kipper testified to Depp telling him a completely different story. Apparently, the two can't agree on the same lie.

DERANGED

After being beaten and raped with a bottle Amber Heard escaped Depp and locked herself in her bedroom where she took some sedatives and fell asleep. During this time Depp wandered around the house, tore up her night gown and wrapped pieces of meat in it which he hid around the house. He smeared mashed potato everywhere. Depp then wrote deranged messages with his bloody stump for hours. When his finger stopped bleeding he went on to dip it in paint to continue writing. At this point he still had enough fury in him to carry on destroying Amber’s paintings in her studio by painting over them in black paint, putting her clothes in a bath tub and throwing paint on them. Eventually, some twelve hours later, Amber woke up to find Depp injured and persuaded him to call for help.

EXPERT OPINION

Dr. Richard Moore, Orthopedic surgeon testified on what the x-rays showed. After examining photographs and x-rays of Johnny Depp’s finger he concluded that it could not have been from a vodka bottle. Moore said the clinical presentation and the radiographic images of the finger showed a crush injury.

Dr Moore went on to say that a bottle thrown in the way Depp described would have left damage to other parts of the hand. Depp’s hand was unmarked by any cuts or scratches and was completley in tact.

Dr Gilbert, Depp's own expert testified that Depp could NOT have sustained the injury the way he claimed and must have moved it otherwise there would be damage to the back of the finger.

BEN KING

Depp's witnesses can't seem to agree on where the finger tip was found. Ben King claims he went down stairs to the bar and found it there.

DR KIPPER

Dr Kipper claims the fingertip was found upstairs in the kitchen.
