Amber had been filming 'The Adderall Diaries in New York where she played the love interest of James Franco's character. As we know from Depp's graffiti about Amber's co-stars and his own admission, he was jealous of Amber's romantic co-stars. Amber claims that on the day of this incident, Depp was particularly upset about a romantic scene Amber was doing with Franco.
THE INCIDENT
On the 24th May 2014 Depp chartered a private plane to pick Amber up from New York, stopping to meet him in Boston with the view of flying home to LA together. Amber claims that she was waiting Depp in the plane on the tarmac at Boston for around an hour while he sat in the car with the music blasting loudly before boarding the plane.
Amber claimed that when Depp boarded the plane he was already intoxicated and started to use foul language in reference to her scene with Franco. At one point, Amber claims he verbally abused her and kicked her.
THE TEXTS
When the plane landed, Amber arranged for her own car to take her to a hotel. Next day Amber receives texts from Depp's assistant, Stephen Deuters.
Deuters brings up the fact that Depp kicked Amber on the plane, not Amber. He goes on to say that Depp was 'appalled' and that he was 'sorry'. Amber references other times Depp has behaved in this manner citing the locations as 'Tokyo, The Island, London'.
Discussion has suggested that the texts are fake and that Deuters could not find them on his phone. However, the texts were discussed with Deuters in the UK trial and their authenticity verified by Deuters himself. Deuters does not testify in the US trial and because of this the texts are ruled as hearsay and are not permitted as evidence. Deuters is made CEO / Director of Depp's production company In2Film in 2020.

APOLOGY TEXT
Later on the 25th May, Depp sends an apology text to Amber. Note, the sender reads 'Steve' as Amber and Depp refer to themselves as Steve and Slim in communications.
THE AUDIO
The Boston Flight incident is later mentioned in an audio by Amber when talking to Depp. She compares an incident in Toronto to the Boston flight saying, "The plane when you kicked me".
ALCOHOL / DRUG CONSUMPTION
Despite all of the evidence pointing to Depp being jealous and out of control, Depp maintained that he sat quietly sketching and only consumed a couple of glasses of champagne. Shortly after the flight, Depp sends a text to his friend describing the flight. He confirms he "drank all night" before picking Amber up and that he had "no food for days, powders, half bottle of whisky, thousand red bull and vodkas, pills, 2 bottles champers on the plane". Of course the 'thousand red bull and vodkas' should not be taken literally but the overall message suggests that Depp recognised that he had had far too much to drink and too many drugs.
Depp also texts his friend, Patti Lee in which he admits he "f*cked up and drank and got shitty.'
Probably the most heartbreaking part of this story is that while Amber had endured a hurtful and humiliating assault from Depp, she still went out next day to take Depp's daughter, Lily-Rose out for her birthday dinner while Depp recovered from his hangover.
