DISCO BLOODBATH

Amber claims Depp backhanded her causing her lip to bleed spraying blood on the wall.

They later refer to this as the Disco Bloodbath named after a book Depp finds and texts Amber about. In her reply she asks, "Is it about last Friday night". The text places the incident at 8th March 2013.

Amber sends a text to her mother with a photo of her bruised arm with the words, "two weeks ago today" which confirms the Disco Bloodbath date of the 8th March 2013. Depp supporters use this photo disingenuously to deny she had a split lip claiming the photo is taken immediately after the incident.

However, despite Amber's claims and the text referencing the incident, Depp claims that he did not hit her. He admits that they did argue over a painting by Amber's ex partner. What's odd in Depp's statement is that he immediately goes to the old "I was trying to placate her" line that he uses frequently when clearly, the text shows she's making light of the assault effectively letting him off the hook.

Now, this is where it gets messy. Originally, Amber confuses two incidents into one. The first where Depp backhands her referenced by the 'Disco Bloodbath' text and the incident where Depp is offended by the painting by Amber's ex Taysa Van Ree. With further reference to texts, Amber amends her statement to clarify the confusion. She dates the Bloodbath incident as the 8th March 2013 and the painting argument to the 22nd March 2013.

On 21st March 2013 Depp commenced filming for the 'Happy' documentary. He sends a text to his producer the day before referring to Amber saying, ‘She’s not a pain in the ass like the French ex albatross”.

Trouble starts on the 22nd March when Amber and Depp are arguing. Problems arise getting Depp to leave the house. He has relapsed on his sobriety. Depp is clearly expected on set but this is proving difficult to orchestrate. At 12.03 Nathan Holmes first texts Amber letting her know he's coming to collect Depp rather than communicating with Depp himself. At this point, it seems she's already responsible for Depp.

In the UK trial, Depp reluctantly admits that he was taking cocaine that morning and that the box in the photo with the words "Property of JD" was his cocaine box.

Depp also admits to drinking whisky that morning.

Amber takes a photo of a table set up with lines of cocaine and alcohol. She sends this to her friend Raquel.

Texts go back and forth for the whole day. Amber claimed Depp would not leave the house without her. Amber eventually gets Depp to leave her house at around 6.10pm and texts Christi Debrowski to let her know they're on the way to the Sweetzer house where filming is taking place. The text corroborates Amber's claim that she had to accompany Depp. She later texts a friend to let them know she's stuck at the Sweetzer house but trying to "wrangle herself free". She eventually manages to leave and go to a friends for dinner. Amber confides in her friends about the situation by text.

Reading through the texts they show that the people around Depp are concerned and trying to get him on set. Amber seems to be taking the burden of moving a belligerent Depp from her house to his home on Sweetzer. It must have been an exhausting day for her. One of many to come.
